State-of-the-Art Femtosecond Laser for Bladeless LASIK Procedures

In traditional LASIK procedures, a microkeratome blade is used to create a thin, hinged flap in your cornea (the outer surface of your eye). While excellent results can be achieved using a microkeratome blade, a newer option for flap creation has proven to be even more effective. This option uses a state-of-the-art femtosecond laser to create the corneal flap.

The femtosecond laser provides you with several important benefits compared with a microkeratome blade:

  • Faster flap creation

  • Increased precision, ensuring the flap creation is more even

  • Reduces the risk of flap complications

Our ophthalmologists use a femtosecond laser to create the corneal flap with all of our LASIK patients, providing a bladeless procedure that ensures the best possible results.

Wavefront Diagnosis

We use wavefront diagnosis with all of our LASIK patients to provide a truly customized procedure. During wavefront diagnosis, computer imaging technology records detailed measurements of your eyes. These measurements are used to create a 3D map of each eye, improving the precision that can be achieved during your procedure.

Wavefront diagnosis provides our patients with several important benefits:

  • Improved contrast sensitivity

  • Greater chance of achieving 20/20 vision or better

  • Clearer night vision

  • Reduced risk of LASIK complications

  • Reduced risk of glare, halos, or starbursts

IntraLase technology is used with bladeless LASIK procedures. It utilizes the measurements obtained from wavefront diagnosis in order to achieve more refined results. The wavefront measurements are loaded into the laser and used to improve the precision of your procedure.

IntraLase technology provides you with several important benefits:

  • Creates a smoother surface for your corneal flap

  • Allows patients with thin corneas who normally may not be ideal LASIK candidates to successfully undergo the procedure

  • Achieves sharper vision in dim light conditions

  • Increases your chances of achieving 20/20 vision
